Lawn care and landscaping is the 10th most deadly industry in the nation, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

When you think about it, the potential for serious injury on the job is omnipresent. The workers are exposed to the elements and slippery, dangerous surfaces. They’re operating power tools and hand tools. They’re encountering gas and electric lines. They’re climbing and pruning trees. They’re operating hydraulic equipment. They’re digging trenches. They’re driving dump trucks, skid loaders, fork drives and backhoes. They’re encountering wasps, bees and other dangerous wildlife.

Safety has always been a priority for David J. Frank since he founded the landscaping business that bears his name in Germantown, Wisconsin, in 1959.

However, he watched as the incidence of accidents in his workforce climbed from 2012 to 2015.
