“Tennessee is an ideal location in relation to our customers and their expanding presence south of the border,” said Sandee Sawdey, Togo North America’s human resource manager. “We are looking forward to becoming part of the Portland community. We would like to thank the City of Portland officials and the staff of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development for all their support in making this a reality. We will be preparing to start production by the end of this year and have many exciting opportunities developing which will increase our global footprint.”

Togo North America plans to produce hose clamps at its Portland facility, located in the Tennessee-Kentucky Business Park. The auto supplier will occupy a 107,000-square-foot building in Portland, where it anticipates starting operations in the fourth quarter of 2019.

“Tennessee is an ideal place for international manufacturers and offers them a wide range of advantages,” said Gov. Bill Lee. “I’d like to thank Togo North America for its commitment to Robertson County and we welcome the company to Tennessee.”

“For decades, Japanese companies have invested considerable amounts of capital in Tennessee, creating more than 50,000 jobs along the way,” said Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe. “We’re proud to welcome Tennessee’s newest company with strong Japanese ties to our state. Togo North America’s investment underscores the confidence global companies have in investing in Tennessee.”

“The City of Portland is excited to welcome another manufacturer to our community,” said Portland Mayor Mike Callis. “Portland already has a broad range of manufacturing, and Togo North America will be a great addition to our industrial park as we add more job opportunities for our city.”
