The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is bidding the Station Platform Rehabilitation – Phase IV FIRPG211121 project on the WMATA Orange Line in NE Washington, D.C., and Prince George’s County, Md. The bid deadline for the up to $450-million design-build project is 2 p.m. on May 17. The project includes designing, constructing, testing and commissioning five station platforms (and access structures) and one bridge rehabilitation project with the option for five other bridge projects. SOME (So Others Might Eat) is building an affordable housing development at 1509-1519 N. Capitol St. NE. The up to $50-million project is expected to start May 1. The project includes one 14-story above-grade reinforced-concrete building. Totaling 100,000 sq ft, the building will have 139 furnished studio and junior one-bedroom apartments. The project also includes a movie theater,  classroom and fitness center, plus a roof deck and adjacent lounge and kitchen. The permitting process is underway. Delaware

Blenheim Land Development is building the Bayberry Town Center Townhomes at 11 Wellness Way in Middletown. The $53-million project is expected to start on July 1. The owner is seeking minor revisions to approvals previously granted by New Castle County. The project includes 34 wood-framed buildings, each three stories above grade, for a total of 424,000 sq ft. Maryland

Anne Arundel County is proposing the construction of an enhanced nutrient-removal treatment facility for the Cox Creek water reclamation facility in Chestnut Hill Cove. The $124-million design-bid-build project could start in July. Further development is pending acquisition of funding. Trista Group is building the 214 West Mulberry Street Apartments in Baltimore. The up to $50-million design-build project could start May 1. The work includes a six-story above-grade building with 94 units that will wrap around a two-and-a-half story historic structure. The project includes renovating a former Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. power plant and a row house. The facility also will include 40,000 sq ft of commercial space. Trista Group, Attn: Stephen L. Pennsylvania

Fairview School District is building a high school in Fairview. General contractor bids for the $45-million design-bid-build project are due at 1:30 p.m. on April 19. The project is expected to start in May. The project involves renovating 124,560 sq ft of the existing brick-and-steel four-story building as well as building an 81,580-sq-ft classroom addition on the north side of the building; demolition of part of the first- and second-floor classroom wing on the building’s south side; and renovation of the remaining building, with new south-side entrance vestibules, lobby area and restrooms.
