The Arizona Dept. of Transportation is seeking bids until July 10 at 2 p.m. for proposed design-build project work in Maricopa County on State Route 101 from Baseline Road to State Route 202. Planned work on the approximately $51-million project includes design and construction for general purpose lanes in both travel directions. The work entails constructing pavement, structures, retaining walls, barriers and drainage facilities as well as signage, pavement markings, street lighting, traffic signal modifications, utilities relocation and landscape restoration. Arizona

Hobbs & Black Associates is reviewing bids for the $70-million West Valley Primary and Specialty Care Center at 8701 W. Grand Ave. in Peoria. The 127,000-sq-ft health care clinic will feature an urgent care room, dental clinic, dialysis clinic, operating rooms, pre-operative/recovery bays and onsite sterile processing. Arizona

Arizona State University and the city of Mesa have reached an agreement to create a campus in downtown Mesa, about 10 miles east of the main campus in Tempe. Under the terms of the deal approved by the Mesa City Council, the city will build a new 100,000-sq-ft building to house elements of the ASU film program and a new technology program. Nevada

Sierra Nevada Construction Inc. is reviewing prequalification documents from electrical, concrete flatwork and structural concrete specialty contractors on the underground utilities phase of the Virginia Street Bus Rapid Transit Extension in Reno. The $48-million construction manager at-risk project is expected to begin in early 2019. The underground utility phase includes grounding existing overhead utilities, building electrical conversions and the installation of municipal utilities. Okland Construction has begun work on a design-bid-build $15-million renovation to an industrial facility in Phoenix that will house the research and design efforts of Nikola Motor Co. Work on the 45,000-sq-ft facility includes demolition of existing interior and exterior concrete slabs, construction of new concrete foundations, demolition of existing roof joists and girders, roofing and roof drains, and modifying existing tilt panels for a new second level.
