The auto club had spent 60 years in the same building in southeast Denver. Clearly, it was time for an upgrade. The organization bought a three-story building in Greenwood Village, then had it gutted and completely renovated. The result: AAA Colorado now has a high-end corporate headquarters, complete with Italian wall and floor tile, a custom light display in the atrium and an indoor water feature. It’s a big step up for an organization that’s been helping Colorado drivers for close to a century.

The owner faced stiff financial penalties if it exceeded its lease expiration in its old space. Thus, schedule and design progression became the project’s two biggest challenges. By deftly managing personnel, permitting and subcontractors, the project team delivered the space on time and within the contract value.
