Hawaiian grown, tropical foliage and flowers offer the “Aloha Advantage”: a beautiful, picturesque piece of paradise that live longer and require less maintenance and replacement costs. The Hawaii Export Nursery Association (HENA) offers an opportunity to experience the Aloha Advantage and see firsthand why nothing compares to the array of Hawaiian grown, foliage and flowers at their 2018 Hawaii MIDPAC Horticultural Conference & Expo. In addition, applications are being accepted for the 3rd annual Aloha Plantscape Awards, honoring plantscapers who utilize Hawaiian grown material.

The Hawaii MIDPAC Horticultural Conference & Expo will take place July 26-28, 2018 at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows on the Big Island of Hawaii. MIDPAC’s conference provides multiple opportunities to meet growers, wholesalers, distributors, brokers, retailers and plantscapers. Attendees network with industry professionals and decision makers representing the tropical plant supply chain throughout North America.

Industry specialists provide insight through engaging conference sessions on horticultural marketing strategies and the latest industry and design trends. In addition to the speaker conference, MIDPAC events include a guided bus tour of four Hawaii nurseries, a Welcome Cocktail Party, Networking Dinner Reception and Aloha Breakfast.

Pre-register by July 11, 2018 to receive discounted conference registration rates and secure an exclusive $189 nightly hotel rate. The Mauna Lani Bay Hotel offers complimentary on-site activities for the family, such as: Hula Dancing Lessons, Turtle and Shark Feeding Excursions and Ancient Hawaiian Petroglyph Walks.

HENA is excited to announce the 2018 Aloha Plantscape Awards, which commends the plantscape community for use of Hawaiian grown tropical potted foliage in design and installation. The deadline to enter is June 1, 2018, and the winner will receive a free trip to Hawaii to attend the 2018 Hawaii MIDPAC Conference & Expo.

Plantscape designers and installers who utilize Hawaiian grown potted foliage are encouraged to enter. Plant installation entries do not need to be 100% Hawaiian plants.
