Photographer: Ann Horton, Marketing Coordinator, Palmisano, New Orleans
Submitted By: Lorraine Lorio, Marketing Director, Palmisano, New Orleans

Palmisano is leading construction on The Higgins Hotel and Conference Center in downtown New Orleans, adjacent to the National WWII Museum.

“The photo shows the progress of the structural-steel framing of the building. The large, top bar of lateral steel weighs 32,000 pounds and had to be hoisted with a 230-ton-capacity crane,” photographer Horton explains. “I hoped to capture the project’s location in relation to the central business district, a prominent area for commerce and the arts.”

Horton took the shot using a Canon EOS Rebel T7i from atop a parking garage adjacent to the site.

“I was drawn to the angles of the steel and concrete shear wall in relation to the surroundings and skyline,” she says.
