Every year, each of ENR’s 10 regional editions honors the best of the next generation of construction industry professionals with the Top Young Professionals competition. And for the third year in a row, ENR honors a new class of national winners.

ENR’s Top 20 Under 40 were selected out of nearly 300 entries received last summer during ENR’s regional Top Young Professionals competition. These nominees represent all parts of the construction industry and came from all 50 states, Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico. Panels of independent industry judges in each of the 10 regions selected up to 20 winners to represent that region. Profiles of all these winners were published earlier this year in each regional magazine.

Next, the highest scoring candidates from each of the 10 regional contests were vetted by a new panel of judges to select a national Top 20 Under 40 list that represented the very best of young leaders from across the country.

Among this year's winners are architects, contractors, engineers, owners, suppliers and tech experts. Entries required detailed information about each nominee's work experience, industry leadership activities, efforts to improve the built environment and service to the broader community.

To learn more about each of the winners and their perspectives on issues affecting the construction industry today, look out for an in-depth feature in the August 12 issue of ENR.

If you know an outstanding candidate for next year, don’t miss your chance to submit an entry to ENR’s regional Top Young Professionals competition when it goes live this summer: www.enr.com/top-young-professionals
