This $9-million replacement project included classrooms, administrative offices and a media center building. Classroom suites include rooms with a 24-in.-wide operable glass partition to allow the room to be opened into a large collaboration space. The classrooms can effectively expand or a breakout session can be held in full view of the teacher in this space. The center of the suites are punctured by a pair of skylit light shafts.

To mitigate emergency situations, the replacement building features a lock-down system.

Completed in December, the project team used LEAN construction methods, which contributed to completing the project approximately two weeks early. There were zero OSHA recordable incidents, although the campus was used by students nearly every day.

The construction team cites daily morning meetings with workers to coordinate tasks as well as daily meetings with school staff to understand ongoing school functions and to confirm that construction activities would not impact student safety.
