Turner recently started construction of a $250-million, 510,000-sq-ft Major League Soccer stadium in Cincinnati, called West End Stadium. Turner serves as the construction manager in partnership with local minority contractor Jostin Construction. Foundation work is underway and structural steel is set to arrive in November. Crews installed approximately 1,400 auger cast piles for the foundation system with each pile driven 65 ft into the ground. Approximately 8,500 tons of structural steel will be used on the project. The project will also feature a galvalume and polycarbonate canopy above the seating areas. The 26,000-seat stadium is scheduled for completion in 2021. Turner worked early in the planning and approval stages with the design team of Populous Architects and local Elevar Design. Approximately $20 million of the project is funded by the city for infrastructure relocation work, including the re-routing of a 42-in. water main and other utilities. The project scope also includes a 400-space underground garage.
