ARIZONA

Kimco Realty is planning to redevelop the Christown Spectrum Mall in Phoenix into a mixed-use project. Portions of the 98-acre mall will be demolished and it will be converted into offices, apartments, retail, entertainment and hotel uses, with a public plaza, making much of the space open air. The planned additions, which will fill much of the existing parking lot, will add 2.98 million sq ft, bringing the total square footage of the development to 3.63 million. In all, the full build-out plans call for 2,066 apartment units, 300 hotel rooms, 46,000 sq ft of entertainment and 280,000 sq ft of office space. It is being designed by Streetsense. CALIFORNIA

Aerial Rapid Transit Technologies LLC is planning to construct an aerial rapid transit (gondola) system in Los Angeles connecting Union Station with Dodger Stadium. KANSAS Scavuzzo’s Inc., a foodservice distributor, is planning to redevelop the former Indian Springs Mall in Kansas City. Phase 1 entails construction of a 266,000-sq-ft food service distribution center and solar field. Phase 2 involves building 12,000 sq ft of retail and entertainment space, and Phase 3 involves building 15,000 to 45,000 sq ft of office, hotel and retail space. MONTANA

Montana Hotel Development Partners is planning to build the Charles Hotel in Kalispell. The five-story, 86,000-sq-ft structure will contain 79 rooms and a three-story parking garage. ARKANSAS

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking statements of qualifications from contractors interested in carrying out the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas Navigation System project. Firms must submit their qualifications through the SAM.gov portal. The project entails construction of a new weir opening at the site of the Historic Closure Structure in Tichnor. The project area is located within levees near the confluences of the White, Arkansas, and Mississippi rivers. The project entails construction of a hydraulic weir, with a crest elevation of 145 ft and a crest length of 1,000 ft. In addition, a new concrete access road along the top of the weir will be built, as well as culvert replacement along Benzal Road. Long term inundation of the work area is likely, and prospective contractors must be able to continue working when the work area is flooded. NEVADA

The Regional Transportation Commission is requesting statements of qualifications for the Maryland Parkway Bus Rapid Transit project. The 8.7-mile-long BRT route will replace the existing local Route 109 bus service with an enhanced transit system. The project alignment extends from the Las Vegas Medical District to the Bonneville Transit Center and through downtown Las Vegas, along Maryland Parkway to Russell Road. There will be 44 stations to facilitate boarding and improve ADA access to, from and within stations. GCW Engineering has been selected as the designer and Kiewit Infrastructure has been chosen as the construction manager. The project is valued at between $160 million and $180 million. NEW YORK

The New York City Economic Development Corp. has awarded a $448-million contract to Skanska to construct a new municipal health lab in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City. The project entails building a ten-story, 234,000-sq-ft lab on the Harlem Hospital campus, including offices, laboratories and clinical facilities. The lower portion of the new building will include a lobby, auditorium, and walk-in testing center. The site is being prepared and graded, and three existing buildings will be demolished to make room for the new structure. NORTH CAROLINA

Dan Ryan Builders has begun site work for the Sidney Creek Subdivision, a 650-home residential project on 215 acres in Zebulon. It will include a mix of single-family houses and townhomes, and is expected to be completed by 2028. It will include a public greenway along the northern creek, spur trails and sidewalks along all streets in the subdivision. The project is valued at $97.5 million.
