“Everyone at Accurate Energetic Systems would like to thank both Humphreys and Hickman counties and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development for their support on this project,” said AES President John Sonday. “Bringing jobs to Tennessee through existing business growth and the relocation of two out-of-state businesses has energized AES as a team to foster growth for years to come.”

Founded in 1980, AES develops, manufactures and supplies a wide range of explosives for the defense, aerospace, mining, oil and gas industries.

“We are focused on expanding economic prosperity in rural Tennessee, and that begins with attracting jobs and investment,” said Governor Bill Lee. “I’d like to thank AES for expanding in McEwen and creating 80 new job opportunities for residents in Humphreys and Hickman counties.”

“AES is a company with four decades of history in the Volunteer State, and the decision to double its workforce in McEwen underscores how our pro-business environment and rural development efforts are paying off,” said Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) Commissioner Bob Rolfe. “I’m pleased to welcome 80 new quality jobs to rural Middle Tennessee.”

Since 2015, TNECD has supported 300 economic development projects in Middle Tennessee, resulting in more than 52,450 job commitments and $9 billion in capital investment.

“AES has long been a tremendous asset to our region, and this expansion is a great example of what communities can do when working together in providing what our corporate citizens need to be successful,” said Humphreys County Executive Jessie Wallace. “Humphreys County is proud to be a part of this project.”
