Technology is helping service technicians streamline their work orders in the field.

If you’re a service contractor, you know how important your regular service work — regular maintenance on service contract, repair jobs, etc. — is for maintaining your organization’s bottom line. That’s why many service contractors are modernizing and streamlining their service processes with technology. From improving the quality and timeliness of service data flowing between the field and the office to simplifying and expanding capabilities of work orders for service technicians in the field, technology is helping service contractors work smarter and boost both productivity and client satisfaction.

These modern service technologies will be on full display at the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration (AHR) Expo, Feb. 3-5 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. If you’re going to the show, be sure to stop by Viewpoint’s booth (#8543) and see our new Service Tech mobile application in action!

Service Tech provides service technicians with an easy-to-use mobile field tool to manage and review work orders, assign and update labor, collect electronic signatures, upload jobsite photos and forms, and much more. The mobile app was designed to specifically address the content-entry needs of iOS and Android smartphone users.

Live demonstrations of Service Tech’s capabilities will be conducted in the Viewpoint booth at 1 p.m. ET on February 3 – 4, and at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5.

These live demos, Dispatch to Billing: The Direct Connection, will showcase the how the integrated service management capabilities in Viewpoint’s Spectrum ERP solution and the Service Tech mobile app enables contractors to work with more streamlined service workflows. Users can create a work order, dispatch a tech, do the work, get the work order signed and synced back to the office and get the bill out to the customer.

Viewpoint will also be highlighting additional technologies connecting the office and field for service contractors, including live demos of one-click integration from MEP Estimating to easily create new jobs in Spectrum. These demos, “From the Estimate to the Field and Back Again,” will also show how users can easily collect time against the job in the field, push that data back into the office to report on and monitor job progress — both in the office and the field.

Attendees of these and/or the Service Tech demos will be entered to win a FLIR CATS60 rugged smartphone. Additionally, Viewpoint will be hosting a happy hour from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4 in its booth.
