Doosan Adds Largest Excavator, DX800LC-7

Dec. 14, 2020

The DX800LC-7 Doosan excavator expands the offering from Doosan Infracore North America and is the company’s largest excavator, at 181,000 pounds operating weight.

It has a 539-horsepower diesel and digs to 27 feet with bucket breakout force of 70,107 lb.-ft. Arm breakout force is 63,715 lb.-ft.; maximum digging reach is 42 feet 9 inches.

A double-boom foot design improves stress distribution on the Doosan excavator and allows users to more easily assemble or disassemble the boom for transportation, according to the company. Three arm options include standard arm, long arm, and mass-excavation arm. The arm selection matches the machine to the job so the machine doesn’t waste power. All three excavator arm configurations include a heavy-duty front design with additional reinforcement on key stress points.

The Doosan D-Ecopower system improve productivity and saves fuel, it says. The hydraulic system precisely controls oil flow and optimizes the engine’s available horsepower. Operators can choose between two modes: boom and swing. Boom priority is ideal in harsh conditions, such as digging over the front or dumping over the side of the machine. Swing priority works best in normal or light-duty digging situations.

The DX800LC-7 cab contains an 8-inch touch screen LCD monitor for high visibility and easy access. The cab has newly designed foot pedals and heated seats. Operators can configure the shortcut button on the joystick to their liking. They can adjust the wipers, mute the audio, or control the camera. The button can also be used to activate the optional intelligent floating boom feature.
