The Korte Company has been awarded to design-build the Fort Shafter Youth Center on the island of Honolulu. The 16,674 square foot building, when complete, will provide safe, supervised, healthy, accountable and age-appropriate activities for children and teens between the ages of 6 and 18 years old.
The design includes a homework center, activity rooms, a multi-purpose area, teen area, kitchen prep and culinary arts area, a common area and stage, restrooms, class rooms, lounge, administrative areas and play court.
According to Todd Korte, President and CEO of The Korte Company, “Being able to provide a service for the Armed Forces is rewarding, especially given the fact that this particular project has a direct and positive influence on the families of our veterans.”
