Plastics Manufacturer Investing In Indiana

20/20 Custom Molded Plastics will invest more than $27 million to locate a new facility in Bluffton, IN, creating up to 155 jobs by 2020.

20/20 Custom Molded Plastics, a custom structural form molding manufacturer, will locate a new facility in Bluffton, IN. The Ohio-based company will move into the former home of Buckhorn Inc. and plans to hire many of its workers, ultimately creating up to 155 jobs by 2020.

Bluffton“20/20 started molding structural foam parts for customers in 2000 and has increased its customer base and molding capabilities on a consistent basis year after year,” said David Rupp, owner at 20/20 Custom Molded Plastics. “We are excited about expanding our manufacturing operations to the Bluffton community and look forward to growing our business with the help of community and business leaders and an outstanding workforce.”

The company will invest more than $27 million to purchase and equip Buckhorn’s former 170,000-square-foot facility. The facility transitioned into a new operation for 20/20 Custom Molded Plastics following Buckhorn’s completion of its consolidation to another location at the end of August.

20/20 Custom Molded Plastics currently employs more than 220 people at its Ohio facility, and is in the process of doubling its production capacity with this new facility. The company has already hired many of the former Buckhorn employees in Bluffton, and is currently hiring press operators, forklift drivers, molding supervisors, setup specialists and maintenance professionals.

“If you’re looking for someone to build top-quality manufactured goods, Hoosiers are the ones for the job,” said Governor Eric J. Holcomb. “With more and more companies like 20/20 Custom Molded Plastics choosing Indiana, our state is charting the future for high-tech, advanced manufacturing. We’re excited for 20/20 Custom Molded Plastics’ plans in Bluffton and look forward to watching the company grow in Indiana.”

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered 2020 Custom Molded Plastics LLC up to $810,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $50,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans. These incentives are performance based, so until employees are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. The city of Bluffton will consider additional incentives at the request of the Wells County Economic Development Corporation.

“We are thrilled to welcome 20/20 Custom Molded Plastics to our community as it provides good jobs to our citizens,” said Bluffton Mayor Ted Ellis. “It is another good example of how the state and our community work together to make life better here.”
