University of Nevada, Reno Selects Sundt Construction for New Project

RENO, Nev. — University of Nevada, Reno recently selected Sundt Construction, Inc.   as the Construction Manager at Risk for a new student residence hall that will break ground in early 2014.

The Cooper Court Residence Hall, located within the campus" residential hall “district,” addresses the university's housing needs for an expanding student population. The sustainably designed residence hall will include suite-style housing and common lounge areas for 400 students.

Designed by Collaborative Design Studio, Cooper Court Residence Hall will complement the rest of the university's campus architecture, featuring a brick veneer, state-of-the-art building systems and designed to achieve LEED Gold certification. The $31-million project consists of the demolition of multiple existing buildings and the construction of the 130,000-square-foot, six-story steel and concrete residential hall.

Sundt is also currently building on the University of California, Davis; California State University, Pomona; Coast Community Colleges; University of Arizona and University of Texas, El Paso campuses in California, Arizona and Texas.
