Connecticut

The Connecticut Dept. of Transportation is planning the Stamford Station Garage and Pedestrian Bridge. The $100- million design-build project involves replacing the original garage at the Stamford Transportation Center with seven parking levels for approximately 960 commuter spaces. The project also includes a glass enclosed pedestrian bridge over Washington Boulevard connected to the transportation center, elevators to street bridge and platform, management offices and realigning South State Street. Construction firms interested in participating in this solicitation must become prequalified in the appropriate work classification by the prequalification deadline, which is anticipated to be June 12. Massachusetts

Amazon.com is building a distribution center on the Kingston/Plymouth town line. The up to $25-million project expected to start in July includes a 145,000-sq-ft, one-story above grade building. Massachusetts

Farm Avenue Two Lots LLC is planning the Residences at Farm Avenue Residential/Garage/40B. The up to $50-million project would include one building six stories above grade. The wood-framed building would sit on a one-story steel frame podium. The project’s advancement is pending approvals of the comprehensive permit. The schedule is to be determined. Rhode Island

The Rhode Island Dept. of Administration is planning the Washington Bridge Rehabilitation in Providence. The $70-million design-build project includes an additional through lane to better accommodate mainline highway traffic and high volume of traffic entering the highway from the Veterans Memorial Parkway, Warren Avenue and Taunton Avenue ramps. A new exit ramp in East Providence will provide a direct connection to Waterfront Drive. The state’s Dept. of Transportation is serving as the engineer. Schematic planning is underway. New York

KNIC Partners LLC is planning Phase 2 of the Kingsbridge National Ice Center in the Bronx. The $180-million, 750,000-sq-ft project will have nine ice rinks and 5,000 seats; a wellness center, with off-ice training fitness, rehabilitation and sports therapy programs; and dressing rooms and lockers with storage for individual hockey equipment. New Jersey

WinnCompanies and Soldier On are planning a $15-million, 70-unit residential building in Tinton Falls, N.J., to house veterans. The 50,000-sq-ft wood-framed building will be four stories above grade.
