Derby Downtown LLC is preparing to build mixed-use buildings at 23 Factory St. in Derby. The $40-million design-bid-build project expected to start on Oct. 1 includes 203 residential units in two four-story buildings above grade with 8,500 sq ft of commercial space. Massachusetts

Edge Technologies is planning a lab facility at 74 Middlesex Ave. in Somerville. The $200-million project would include one structural steel building 27 stories above grade and two stories below. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is planning the nearly $37-million Winchester Station renovation project in Winchester. Bidding for the design-bid-build project is scheduled for September. The project consists of reconstructing the station’s ramp and installing a new stair on Laraway Road; installing a new stair and elevator on the inbound side at the Waterfield Lot; installing a new elevator, stair and ramp on the outbound side at the Aberjona Lot; and installing a new stair and elevator on MBTA-owned property behind the buildings on Laraway Road. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the MTA are planning the $1.5-billion LaGuardia Air Train. The 1.5-mile elevated train service will run between the airport and Mets-Willets Point Station, connecting to the No. 7 train and to the Long Island Rail Road. RWJ Barnabas Health and Rutgers University are planning the $600-million Rutgers Cancer Institute/RWJ Barnabas Cancer Pavilion in New Brunswick. The new facility will be built on the site of the Lincoln Annex School and contain 100 inpatient cancer care beds, 84 infusion bays, 74 exam rooms, four linear accelerators and a 120,000-sq-ft basement for radiation treatment, plus bridge connections to the existing Cancer Institute and to the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
