Iowa Prestage Farms Inc. is planning to build a pork-and-hog processing facility in Eagle Grove. The 650,000-sq-ft facility will incorporate air-scrubbing technology and a water reuse program, which will reduce the need for water and wastewater  treatment. New York Est4te Four Capital LLC is planning to build the Red Hook Innovation Studios office complex in Brooklyn’s Red Hook neighborhood. The 13.5-acre waterfront site is currently occupied by a large industrial brick building. Plans developed by architectural firm NBBJ call for four new office buildings, a waterfront promenade and open space. Separately, the existing warehouse building, known as 202 Coffey St., will be concerted into a fashion, art and music event space, designed by architectural firm AA Studio. North Carolina BK Partners is planning to create Brooklyn Village, a large mixed-use project on a 17-acre site in Charlotte. The project will encompass 1,243 homes, with 85% rental apartments and 15% condos; 687,000 sq ft of office space, including a 22-story office tower; two hotels; 252,100 sq ft of retail space and 1.9 acres of park space. Tennessee The Scenic Land Co. is planning to develop Hillocks Farm, a mixed-use development on a 190-acre site in Hixson. The project will include 280 apartments, 250,000 sq ft of office space and 500,000 sq ft of retail space. Hart Howerton is the designer, and GenTech Construction has been selected as the general contractor. Integra Land Co. is developing the garden-style apartments on a 20-acre portion of the site. Wisconsin SmartSand Inc., a mining company, is planning to build the SmartSands railroad freight terminal, located on an 85-acre site near Tomah, to ship fracking sand. The project will entail the construction of almost seven miles of looped track to accommodate four trains, each longer than 1.5 miles. The project is valued at $10 million. Georgia M.A. Mortenson Co. has been awarded a $50.6-million firm-fixed-price contract by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command for construction of the Crab Island Security Enclave at the Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base. The project team will construct a 5,200-ft-long enclave fencing system and, to connect the fencing system to the floating port-security barriers, two land-water interface barriers. The barrier structures will be sheet-pile bulkhead abutments supported by concrete piles and, to adjust to the water level, attached with movable connections. Montana Sletten Construction Co. has started to convert the existing Roosevelt County Jail in Wolf Point into law-enforcement offices and, as an addition to the remodeled offices, now is constructing a new and expanded jail that will significantly increase the existing jail space. Texas SpawGlass Contractors Inc., the construction manager-at-risk, has started building a tennis facility to replace the Penick-Allison Tennis Center, in Austin. The residential development will encompass 42 four-story buildings, totaling 400,000 sq ft. Pennsylvania 8/25 The Pennsylvania Dept. of Transportation is seeking bidders to carry out a bridge replacement. The project entails removing the existing bridge, which carries U.S. Route 522 over Middle Creek in Snyder County, and constructing a new three-span, 977-ft-long, composite prestressed-concrete bulb-tee beam bridge.
