California Alameda Point Partners, a joint venture led by Trammell Crow Residential, and which includes srmERNST Development Partners, Madison Marquette, Eden Housing and Cypress Equity Investments, plans to develop Alameda Point. The project will convert the 68-acre former Alameda Naval Air Station, which closed in 1997. The mixed-use development will ultimately include 800 residential units, up to 600,000 sq ft of commercial space, 15 acres of parks and public open space, and the Seaplane Lagoon Ferry Terminal. Construction of infrastructure for phase one of the 30-acre Site A is expected to begin soon, with vertical construction beginning by year end. Florida Walton Development is planning to build Village at Midway, a mixed-use project, on a 516-acre site at 9850 W. Midway Rd. in Fort Pierce. The development will include up to 650 single- and multifamily homes, a 160,000-sq-ft shopping center, a 10,000-sq-ft fast-food restaurant, a 25,000-sq-ft full-service restaurant, 1.5 million sq ft of warehouses and 1.2 million sq ft for light industrial use. Minnesota Ralco and its corporate affiliate tru Shrimp Co., are planning to build a shrimp hatchery and processing center in Luverne. The facility will include the Luverne Hatchery; a 42,000-sq-ft building; a free-standing shared water treatment complex; and a building that will house 256 tanks, each 150 ft long and stacked eight high, where the shrimp will grow to maturity. New Jersey Hudson County is planning to build a new Hudson County Court complex, which will include a criminal court building, a family and civil court building and a public parking deck, on a site bounded by Newark Avenue, Oakland Avenue, Cook Street and Route 139. The project will include asbestos abatement and demolition of buildings along Newark Avenue, and the realigning of several local streets to allow Central Avenue to connect with Newark Avenue. New York Arconic has hired Anchor QEA, Arcadis and CDM Smith to design the environmental remediation solution for dredging and capping contaminated sediment in a 7.2-mile-long stretch of the Grasse River in Massena. The project will remediate the sediment contaminated with PCBs released from the aluminum manufacturing plant there. (Arconic changed its name from Alcoa Inc. in 2016.) Virginia Loudoun Water is planning to convert a rock quarry (Quarry A) in Ashburn to a water reservoir and an associated raw water pump station and transmission main. Alabama 6/28 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking bidders to renovate the Primary Standards Lab at Redstone Arsenal. The project will be executed in three phases to allow for mission continuation while moving lab functions around within the building. Phase 1 repairs will involve the applied physics department, electrical rooms, a mechanical room and telecommunications rooms, as well as antiterrorism/force protection upgrades and a new water line. Phase 2 includes repairs to the physical standards, electrical standards and metrology departments. Major pieces of equipment in the physical standards department with strict requirements for vibration and airflow control will remain in place and operational during the renovations.
