TPAM Opens New $4M Ohio Facility

The Japanese company moved into an existing 62,000-square-foot facility in Toledo, OH, where it will create at least 30 new jobs.

A Japanese prototyping company celebrated its grand opening earlier this month with a ribbon cutting ceremony at its north Toledo, OH facility. The new operation, called TPAM (Topia America), will invest $4 million and create at least 30 new jobs at its North-Cross Industrial Park location.

TPAM provides support in the development of automotive and other industrial products. It is recognized as one of the few specialist companies that can handle all parts of the product-making process. The new operation will focus on automotive companies in the Detroit area, as well as Ohio and Canada.

“We are proud to announce the opening of our first North American facility in Toledo,” said Hideki Sasaki, CEO, Topia, the parent company of TPAM. “Northwest Ohio’s favorable business climate and its proximity in the marketplace relative to our customer base were key factors in our decision to locate here.”

TPAM will take over an existing 62,000-square-foot facility, where it will install robotic welders and other equipment to do prototype production. For this project, the company received several grants and incentives through JobsOhio, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority, the city of Toledo and Lucas County.

“Northwest Ohio’s competitive assets continue to attract significant investment in the advanced manufacturing industry,” said Dean Monske, president and CEO, Regional Growth Partnership. “In collaboration with JobsOhio, we congratulate TPAM and look forward to working with the company in its growth and expansion.”
