National Grid and Rhode Island state regulators will review 41 proposals offering 2,500 MW of renewable-energy capacity submitted in response to a September request seeking 400 MW Bids arrived from New England and New York to provide 20 to 400 MW of wind and solar power to the state under power-purchase agreements with terms between 10 and 15 years. Gov. Gina Raimondo (D) announced a state goal two years ago to acquire 1,000 MW of renewable energy. As of Sept. 30, 2018, more than 300 MW were online. Contracts will be executed by July 29. The state’s Public Utilities Commission is due to give final approval by Aug. 30.
