This week's segment of The Weekly looks at the state of off-site construction. Is this alternative building method gaining momentum? Can it help relieve the scarcity of affordable housing? 

Builders' attitudes toward off-site construction methods have remained the same for nearly a decade. Now with the pandemic and key housing issues being pushed to the forefront, some builders are changing their opinions. In addition, more off-site construction companies have emerged, including the 3D printing service Mighty Buildings, which now has a potential partnership with production builder Meritage Homes.

What will it take for builders to adopt more off-site construction methods? What could it mean for the industry, and does 3D printing really stand a chance?
