Specialty Films Producer Building New South Carolina Manufacturing Facility

Charter Nex Films will invest $85 million and create more than 110 new jobs at the Richland County, SC operations.

Charter NEX Films is locating new specialty film manufacturing operations in Richland County, SC. The project is expected to result in $85 million of capital investment and the creation of more than 110 new jobs. Located in the Carolina Pines Industrial Park in Blythewood, SC, the company will build a new 140,000-square-foot facility. Hiring is projected to begin in the second quarter of 2018.

“The 110 jobs that this investment will create for South Carolinians clearly show Charter NEX’s commitment to our state and our people,” said Gov. Henry McMaster. “We are grateful that this great company has decided to choose South Carolina for its new location, and we look forward to the future prosperity that we know will come from this partnership.”

Charter NEX Films is one of North America’s leading independent producers of high-performance specialty films used in flexible packaging and other critical performance applications. With both blown and cast film capabilities, the company’s products are utilized for a variety of applications, including food, medical and protective purposes.

South Carolina’s Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to this project.
