Corsair Distillery was founded in Bowling Green, KY by two Nashville natives in 2008. In 2010, Corsair moved the majority of the company and operations to Nashville where it became the city’s first craft distillery. The company currently has two locations in Nashville and one in Kentucky. The company’s second Nashville location opened in 2016, which currently houses the company’s headquarters.

“The Corsair Distillery is excited to launch our new Nashville facility. We started in 2008 with only 2,400 square feet, and our new 117,000-square-foot distillery will be a quantum leap for us in terms of quality, capacity and will allow us to make more innovative spirit,” said Corsair Distillery Owner Darek Bell. “Our new facility will allow us to consolidate most of ourselves operations under one roof while still keeping our two other Nashville locations operational. We will also have the capacity to make 70 barrels per day and store 60,000 barrels in house.

“Southern food and drinks are going through a renaissance. Old traditions are being rediscovered and new flavors are being experimented with. Corsair is proud to be a part of Nashville’s evolving food and beverage industry,” Bell added.

With this expansion, Corsair will build a production facility in The Nations neighborhood in Nashville to expand capability for production and warehousing of whiskey. The company will locate its operations into a new 117,000-square-foot facility.

“I want to thank Corsair for choosing to expand its operations in Davidson County and for creating 52 new jobs in Nashville,” said Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe. “Tennessee puts a major emphasis on creating a business-friendly environment that not only makes our state a perfect location for new businesses to locate operations, but also makes it the ideal place for existing companies to expand. I look forward to seeing Corsair’s continued success in our state and continuing our partnership with this great company.”

“Craft distilleries are a big part of Nashville today, but someone always has to strike the match and light the fire, and that was Corsair back in 2010,” said Nashville Mayor David Briley. “Corsair’s continuing investment in capital and jobs will be a boom for The Nations and for the city as a whole.”
