While choosing hot weather boots consider features like safety, breathability, and length. Breathable boots have a good moisture-wicking property which absorbs the sweat and maintains a proper circulation of air inside the boots. Talking about length, longer boots tend to trap more heat around your feet than a shorter one.

3. Use Shoe Inserts

Another great method of preventing embarrassing slips is by using shoe inserts as recommended by the International Hyperhidrosis Society. These work efficiently in absorbing all the moisture thus keeping your feet dry.

Summer Sole

One such fantastic recommendation is Summer Soles which is made especially for people who face excessive sweating. They even have oil fragrances to make you sweat and odor-free in no time.

4. Always Put on Suitable Socks

If you think that socks aren’t a big deal then think again because the socks that you wear everyday act as a barrier between the feet and inside of your boots. Always choose the ones that have good absorbency and have the ability to pull the sweat off of your feet.

As soon as you get home, put your boots in the boot dryer because it’s sort of necessary to keep your feet dry. The boot dryer evaporates all the sweat saving you from all the bacteria that reproduce inside your boot.

Every construction worker should own them since these are a hundred percent effective in minimizing perspiration and keeping you comfortable.

6. Take Foot Powders

Use directly on your feet or sprinkle it in your boots, talcum powder does the job. After washing your feet clean just rub a little powder on your feet and cover all your bases.

7. Use Antiperspirant Spray

If you do not want to be all powdery then there are other alternatives like antiperspirant sprays as well which can make a big difference. Although, it is advised not to use spray and powder together.

Other ways to avoid sweaty feet

By following some natural ways you can not only keep your feet healthy but can improve your general health as well.

8. Maintain a Healthy Weight

It is observed that people who weigh more tend to sweat more because they exert more energy and their mass takes a longer time to cool off. Reducing the excess weight will reduce your feet’s stress.

9. Drink Lots of Water

Drinking hot water particularly on hot days regulates body temperature and reduces sweating. So, when at work keep yourself hydrated to keep your feet fresh.

Let your feet breathe by taking off your shoes and socks. By propping your feet up you can let them rest for a while.

Why do my feet sweat in work boots?

Sweating is a very common phenomenon that each one of us experiences. Sweat not only makes your feet vulnerable to bacteria and other germs but can also create an embarrassing situation for you by leaving an unpleasant smell not on your feet but boots as well. However,  you don’t have to suffer from this anymore. It’s time to get ahead of this annoying problem.

We all know that our sweat is just water with little amounts of urea, lactic acid, and other minerals and enhances bacterial growth. But why do our feet sweat? Perspiration can occur because of the following reasons:

1.) Foot Conditions

Sometimes it’s natural while at other times there is a probability that you might be suffering from other conditions like an athlete’s foot. Even anxiety is sometimes responsible for excessive sweating.

2.) Working in Hot Environments

Excessive sweating may also occur while working in a hot environment or during hot weather for long hours. Probability is that you might be wearing some insulated or heavy-duty work boots which do not let your feet breathe and make them sweaty.

3.) Hyperhidrosis

Sometimes our extreme sweat glands can lead to a condition called plantar hyperhidrosis which is quite uncomfortable and bothersome. In this situation, our sweat glands continue to produce sweat even when we are at rest.

Final thoughts

Sweating is natural, sweaty boots aren’t. Simple steps can eliminate or at least control the excessive sweating. So next time you wear your boots makes sure you don’t slip into a pond of sweat. Because at the end of the day if your feet are happy then you are happy. Have happy feet always!
