A cyclist was involved in a fatal collision with a construction lorry outside a Keltbray site in central London on Wednesday morning.

The victim, in his early 20s, is understood to have been riding an e-bike when he collided with a tipper truck leaving the Network Building on Tottenham Court Road where Keltbray is currently carrying our demolition and groundworks for client Derwent.

Construction work on the site has been suspended until further notice while investigations into the accident continue.

A company statement said: “Keltbray is aware that early on Wednesday 24th May, a road traffic accident occurred on the public highway in Fitzrovia, involving one of its subcontractor’s lorries and a cyclist, in which the cyclist tragically sustained fatal injuries.

“The thoughts of the Keltbray leadership team and the entire workforce at Keltbray’s Built Environment Division are with the family and friends of all those involved at this very difficult time.

“Keltbray is supporting the police, emergency services and our subcontractor in their investigations as required.

“While investigations are ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further.”
