Kier is restructuring its Infrastructure Services division with the current three business streams set to become two.

From July 1 the current Highways, Utilities and Infrastructure operations will become Transportation and Natural Resources and Nuclear & Networks.

Transportation will consolidate Kier’s design, build and maintenance work for its existing highways maintenance and major projects business, as well as becoming responsible for its broader rail, airports infrastructure and ports’ sectors.

Joe Incutti

Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks will cover “the next generation of water management, energy generation and infrastructure assets and the network distribution of essential services.”

Joe Incutti, currently Group managing director, Kier Highways, will spearhead the whole Transportation business stream while Andrew Bradshaw, currently Group managing director of Utilities, will lead the Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks business stream as Ross Mackenzie, interim managing director of Kier Infrastructure assumes the role of managing director, Natural Resources and Nuclear.

Mark Pengelly, current group managing director of the Infrastructure business is set to retire at the end of this year.

Kier emphasised the restructure was not about cost cutting.

A spokesperson said: “The announcement this morning is about supporting our growth ambitions and ensuring our through life capability further strengthens client relationships. Cost and people savings are not the purpose for this change.”

Andrew Davies, chief executive of Kier Group, added: “The realignment in our Infrastructure Services business is a critical step in supporting the execution of the Group’s medium-term value creation plan and enabling us to respond proactively to client needs in the key markets in which we operate in.

“As a Group, we continue to be agile and evolve to the needs of our clients and these new business streams support our design, build and maintenance capabilities.

“Joe and Andrew both have proven track records in delivering operational and commercial excellence and collectively through the strength and skills of our people, we are well-placed to deliver the next generation of infrastructure for communities across the UK.”
