Some food for thought: Could it (read that as "it will") be better to let the walls be modeled as they will be built (with dead spaces in between), rather than using in-place walls that simply mimic old methodologies, like CAD or Hand drawn lines filled with poche or hatching? It is more suited to a model that is about graphics.

This isnt necessarily a bad habit as long as they are using detail lines and not model lines (detail lines are view specific but model lines will show up everywhere). It loaded viewing the model from the bottom of the floor, under the building. I tried to reload it and checked as many settings as I could in Revit to try and find out why the model loaded this way in Impression. Architectural Desktop. If you want to do cost estimating outside of Revit you might try exporting the Revit model as an ODBC and importing the database into Timberline. Architectural Desktop. Only use Material Takeoff Schedules when you want to schedule every material that is used in the door/window family separately. Havent tried it yet myself.

When you model your geometry give it a material called "Variable" or some other material name that is not used in your project file. Architectural Desktop.
