This January 2021 issue of Pro Builder marks the beginning of an ambitious new partnership between the National Association of Home Builders and SGC Horizon, publisher of this and other top housing industry brands.

SGC Horizon is a leading diversified media, content, marketing, data, and events company serving the residential and commercial design and construction markets. Its flagship publication, Pro Builder, has been the preeminent housing industry magazine for more than 80 years.

The partnership takes advantage of the rich resources of both organizations, ensuring an extended reach for our important advocacy efforts, including housing affordability, workforce development, housing finance reform, and much more.

You can expect to see regular messages on important housing issues from me and future NAHB chairs in the years ahead. The affordability crisis, building material costs, and excessive regulatory policies are just a few of the concerns our advocacy teams are working on to benefit our members.

This new agreement spans the broad range of SGC’s family of residential construction-related media products, providing an amplified voice for NAHB’s work. It is designed to strengthen not just NAHB and SGC Horizon, but also the association’s 140,000 members and the 120,000 readers of Pro Builder along with the readers of other publications under the SGC Horizon umbrella.

NAHB is driven to produce a business-friendly policy environment that enables our members to build a better product and a better business. Our partnership with SGC Horizon and its family of excellent publications connects us to a larger network of building professionals facing common challenges, enabling us to better share insights about leading-edge business and building solutions.

NAHB is driven to produce a business-friendly policy environment that enables our members to build a better product and a better business.

It also extends the reach of our staff of experts, including top economists, tax specialists, attorneys, and financial, regulatory, and technical experts who specialize in understanding and addressing the effects of government rules and regulations on the housing industry.

We look forward to delivering important information via additional platforms, including dedicated online space on the Pro Builder website. And we are excited about expanding NAHB’s educational resources—already one of the most sought-after benefits of membership—by creating new education and training products and services as part of this partnership.

NAHB and SGC Horizon share a common goal of protecting the American Dream of housing opportunity for all and helping NAHB members achieve professional success as they build homes and communities, create jobs, and contribute to economic growth.

These are two great organizations, and I am excited about the possibilities.

The 2021 International Builders’ Show has transitioned from an in-person event to a virtual Builders’ Show experience, IBSx, to be held live, online, Feb. 9-12, 2021.
