EPA Claims Fiat Chrysler Used Software to Cheat Emmisions on 100K Vehicles

Reuters reports today the EPA will officially accuse Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV of using software that allowed excess diesel emissions in just over 100,000 U.S. trucks and SUVs sold since 2014. Construction Unemployment Rates Improve in 38 States Year-Over-Year, ABC Says

WASHINGTON, D.C. — November not seasonally adjusted construction unemployment rates were down in 38 states and the nation on a year-over-year basis, according to an analysis recently released by Associated Builders and Contractors. The rates for two states, Kansas and Texas, were unchanged from November 2015. The national NSA construction unemployment rate of 5.7 percent was down 0.5 percent from a year ago and unchanged from October, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

73% of construction firms plan to expand their payrolls in 2017

Survey results released by the Associated General Contractors of America and Sage Construction and Real Estate show 73% of the nearly 1,300 construction firms polled plan to expand their payrolls in 2017. Most firms will only see modest expansions, though, as 66% reported their planned hiring will increase total headcount between 1% and 25%. 6% of firms reported they plan on increasing their headcount more than 25% this year.
