October New Housing Starts Up 13.7%

The U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development released its data for new residential construction statistics for October 2017 today. Starts - 37.4 percent higher in Northeast region. Privately-owned housing starts in October were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1,290,000. This is 13.7 percent above the revised September estimate of 1,135,000, but is 2.9 percent below the October 2016 rate of 1,328,000.
