CBP Names Contractors for Border Wall Prototypes

July Construction Spending Dips 0.6%

The Commerce Department reports that July's construction spending decreased 0.6 percent to $1,211.5 billion, down from June's $1,219.2 billion. However, the July 2017 figure is 1.8 percent above July's numbers in 2016. Year to date, construction spending is 4.7 percent above the same time last year, posting $691.2 billion for the first seven months of 2017 compared to $659.9 billion in during the first seven months of 2016.
