California Bill to Blacklist Border Wall Contractors Step Closer

In an 8 to 3 vote Tuesday, California's Senate Committee on Governmental Organization took another step towards passing SB30 that bars any business involved with building the barrier wall between the U.S. and Mexico from doing business with California. SB30 be heard next by the Senate Appropriations Committee. SB30 is sponsored by Sen. Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens) is one of two bills taking aim at contractors who choose to work on the border wall.

The DCP v.2 is a mobile tracked, self contained, solar powered robot with two arms that uses additive construction techniques and materials (such as spray foam, concrete, fiber) to create a 2,786 cubic meter structure.

Number of U.S. architects holds steady, while professional mobility increases

There are 109,748 architects in the United States, according to the 2016 Survey of Architectural Registration Boards. While this represents a minimal drop from the previous year (roughly 0.4 percent), the survey also reveals that architects increasingly hold licenses in multiple states. In fact, U.S. architects now have 126,554 reciprocal (out-of-state) licenses, a 3 percent increase from 2015.
