Barratt London plans in for Canning Town towers

Barratt London is pressing ahead with plans for a major mixed tenure scheme in east London despite the weakening housing market. The firm has submitted plans to build seven blocks ranging from 8 to 30 storeys in Canning Town on a 4 acre site known as Crown Wharf on the River Lea. Around 35% or 241 of the planned 871 homes will be affordable. Under the plans drawn up by architects JTP and Met Works the tallest two central towers will be grey rising to 25 and 30 storeys.

£30m consultancy framework offers work for 116 winners

The 116 winning consultants have been confirmed for a country-wide £30m framework to help support new build, refurbishment and retrofit of public sector buildings and homes. The companies have been awarded places on public sector construction framework provider LHC Procurement Group’s (LHC) Consultancy Services (CS1) framework, now available to use until April 2027 across England and Wales.
