Illinois DOT Advises Contractors of Possible Shut Down

The Chicago Sun-Times reports the Illinois department of Transportation will shut down roadwork statewide if Illinois' lawmakers don't get their act together and pass a budget by the end of this month. “Due to the General Assembly’s refusal to pass a balanced budget, the Illinois Department of Transportation loses its ability to pay contractors starting July 1,” IDOT communications director Guy Tridgell said in an email.

Cornell Tech unveils plans to reach Net Zero at The Bloomberg Center

Cornell Tech, under construction on Roosevelt Island in New York City, recently announced details of its plan to achieve Net Zero energy efficiency for The Bloomberg Center. Designed by the architecture firm Morphosis, The Bloomberg Center is the first academic building to be constructed on the Cornell Tech campus. The first phase of this development will open this September.
