Newark Liberty International Airport breaks ground on $2.4 billion redevelopment project

The modernization project at the Newark Liberty International Airport is officially underway. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has recently broken ground on the $2.4 billion project. The largest aspect of the project is the redevelopment of the original Terminal A building, which opened in 1973 and is being replaced with a new 1 million-sf terminal building.

6 Workers Injured in NYC Scaffold & Concrete Collapse

Six workers were pouring cement on the eighth floor of a 18-story apartment building this morning in Long Island City when the scaffolding collapsed, causing them serious injuries. The incident happened around 11 a.m. at 42-20 27th Street near Queensboro Plaza while crews were pouring concrete into a 20-by-20 foot form that suddenly collapsed on the seventh floor below.
