Here are a few tools that are often overlooked by beginners. Rotate: When you select and start to rotate an object you'll notice a blue rotation icon shows up. You can move the icon to rotate an object about any origin. Mirror: When you select and start to mirror an object don't overlook the fact that you can DRAW any axis you wish to mirror about. Stacked Walls: Does the width and material of your wall change halfway up the elevation.

Tip #1 If you would like to add a joint into duct or pipe, hold down your ctrl key and click. This makes a nice line of demarcation for transitions between existing to new. Tip #2 Specifying standard elevations in Options/ABS Elevations per project is handy, but because every project is different I have to set up elevations every time a project comes in the door.

The Korte Company To Build Distribution Center For Walgreens

The Korte Company

The Korte Company has been awarded a project for Walgreen Co., the nation’s largest drugstore chain. Construction is planned to begin early this Summer in Windsor, Connecticut. When completed, the 770,000 square foot distribution center will eventually employ 550 workers. When the facility goes on-line in 2008, it is expected to serve approximately 275 stores in New England and New York.

It took me some time to track down how to change different linestyles so I thought I'd dedicate a post to linestyles. Linestyles for Model Objects like walls, doors, roofs, topography and other families are located under Settings. Object Styles. Here you can set the Color, Pattern, and Material of any family's linestyle.

Revit's Annotations, Tags, Titleblocks, Schedules, Dimensions, and Text Tool are all setup to Arial by default and there is no one place in Revit to change Font styles and sizes so, like linestyles , you have to kind of search around to find all of them. We use Times New Roman in our office so I had to change the fonts in our template one at a time.

ABS Sizing Standards

I often get questions on how ABS sizes duct, wire and pipe. Well I guess it has happened enought that I have written it all out for you. Read on and all shall be revealed. Duct Duct sizing is derived from the ASHRAE Fundamentals Handbook 1997 and can be based on Air Velocity or Static Pressure Drop (Friction) per 100 feet of duct. Roughness Coefficient and Air Density can be set by the user.
