The Inflation Reduction Act and How GCP Solutions Can Apply.

The Inflation Reduction Act is aggressively tackling climate change head on. The bill, which passed into law in August 2022, is aiming to reduce carbon emissions in the U.S. by approximately 40% by 2030. To achieve this goal, the U.S. government is investing $300 billion to update building codes and support sustainable construction, and expanding tax credits as incentives for energy-efficient construction.

As a leader in global construction products, GCP offers specialty construction chemicals and building materials that are not only high-performing and durable, but help meet sustainability goals. GCP’s CO2ST Reducers are setting a new standard in cement additives and concrete admixtures that reduce embodied carbon and reduce costs.

We have also invested in resources to help our partners develop EPDs for Buy Clean programs and other projects that require disclosure of embodied carbon and/or green building certifications. Learn more here.

Our specialty building materials portfolio, includes below-grade, on-grade, and above-grade waterproofing products, in addition to air barriers. These products not only protect buildings and increase their stability and longevity for generations, they offer better air temperature and moisture control reducing the use of energy systems to maintain air quality. GCP has secured numerous EPDs for our specialty building materials which can most effectively help with decision-making and selection of products that can improve overall project carbon footprint. Our expert technical services team collaborates with our partners in specifying and installation. Our list of current building envelope EPDs can be found here.
