Developer Dandara Living has submitted plans to Glasgow City Council to build a mix of nearly 1,000 build to rent homes and student rooms at Anderston Quay beside the river Clyde.

The Stores scheme overlooking the Kingston Bridge promises to deliver 503 homes for rent, and an additional 491 student homes over three buildings.

The design includes additional public realm for Glasgow in the form of a new urban park, over 4,000 sqft of commercial space and an array of on-site resident amenities including lounges, co-working facilities, cycle store and workshop, and two fully equipped gyms.

At 27 storeys, the main residential tower will provide a major landmark with a rooftop viewing platform and residents lounge.

Rachel Allwood, planning director of Dandara Living said: “Following a series of public consultations we believe our new application offers a terrific opportunity to create a development that reflects its unique and highly visible location.

“It also helps address the local authority’s desire to double the number of people living in the city centre by 2035 and deliver much needed purpose built student accommodation, creating a more sustainable and vibrant city.”
