NAWIC Chartering Event Marks a Milestone in Vermont

PC Construction team at the NAWIC Vermont Chartering event. The construction industry is not just about bricks and mortar; it’s about building dreams, shaping communities and breaking barriers. On December 5, in a celebration of women achievements and contributions in construction, the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) officially chartered the Vermont chapter. The chartering event is a testament to our powerful and hardworking Vermont construction women who volunteered many hours to get the chapter off the ground over the past year. NAWIC Vermont aims to create a supportive community where women in construction can educate, develop, connect and thrive.

The chartering event was more than just a celebration; it’s a bold statement about the future of the construction industry. By fostering diversity, promoting inclusion and recognizing the achievements of women in construction, NAWIC is contributing to the creation of a more equitable and vibrant industry. As we reflect on this historic occasion for Vermont, let us collectively embrace the opportunities ahead and build a future where everyone, regardless of gender, can contribute to and benefit from the ever-evolving landscape of construction.

We are proud to have collaborated between other local women in construction to bring this event to fruition, with a special shout-out to ReArch, GW Savage and Hoyle Tanner. We are also excited to announce that two members of the PC team have also been voted onto NAWIC Vermont’s board of directors – Karen Deutscher as director and myself as treasurer. The first official chapter meeting will be held January 9, 2024. All prospective members are welcome – please reach out to Karen or me for additional details!
