Robert S. Boh

Boh Bros. Construction Co. LLC, New Orleans, announced that, after nearly 28 years as the company’s president, Robert S. Boh is adopting a new title, chairman and CEO. His role at the head of the organization remains unchanged. Stephen Boh has been named president and chief administrative officer, retaining his current responsibilities. Stephen is the fifth member of the Boh family to serve as company president.

Also, Edward A. Scheuermann will continue to oversee all company operations with the new title of chief operating officer. He had been senior vice president of operations since 2013.

Robert Senior will move to a new role as chief financial officer from his prior position as vice president and manager of heavy construction.

G.J. Schexnayder will assume the duties of manager of heavy construction. Schexnayder has previously served in a variety of roles in the Heavy Construction division.

Valerie Carlson has joined S&B Engineers and Constructors, Houston, as chief financial officer and treasurer. She will be responsible for the company’s accounting and finance functions.

Carlson joins S&B from Members Choice Credit Union, where she served as chief financial officer. She has more than 20 years of experience in oil and gas, construction and financial services.

Matthew Czuba

Zachry Engineering Corp. hired Matthew Czuba as president. He joins the organization with more than 30 years experience as an engineer in the downstream and chemical industries. Czuba will be responsible for the growth of Zachry Group’s Engineering and EPC businesses.

Lisa Mayo was promoted to vice president for Zachry Maintenance Services. She will be responsible for growing the maintenance business while also working to expand Zachry Group’s capabilities at all existing maintenance sites.

Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corp., Houston, promoted David Johanson to senior vice president, project acquisition and operations, and Christopher G. Gunsten to the position of senior vice president for project services and fleet engineering. These two positions will fill the roles currently held by the company’s chief operating officer, David E. Simonelli, who is retiring on Sept. 16. Simonelli will oversee the transition and continue to serve the company as a consultant following his retirement.

STV has hired Stephanie Koeninger as senior vice president and head of client experience, based in the Dallas office. In this role, Koeninger will lead STV’s approach to client relationships and develop programs and processes to support growth. Prior to joining STV, she served as the executive director for growth and strategy at KPMG.

Also, Robert J. Spillar has joined STV’s Austin office as senior vice president and national director leading the firm’s new multidisciplinary smart cities practice.

Luis Cuellar has joined CP&Y, an STV company, as vice president and municipal market lead. With a background in public works, Cuellar will lead the firm’s municipal work in the South Texas region from the San Antonio office. He has 26 years of experience in planning, design and construction-phase services for civil infrastructure projects.

Christian Peterson has joined HITT Contracting as vice president and leader of the firm’s Houston office. Peterson joins HITT from JLL and has more than 20 years of experience within the Houston’s commercial real estate, design and construction management community.

Alison Satt

Swinerton has promoted Alison Satt to vice president and division manager in Austin. Satt joined Swinerton in 2016.

Rich Hendren has joined TDI-Brooks, College Station, Texas, as vice president of operations integrity and quality development. Hendren retired from the U.S. Navy after 30 years of service in submarines, submarine support and shore installation management.

Satterfield & Pontikes Construction, Houston, has appointed David Van Fleet as vice president of its industrial market sector. Van Fleet began his career as an intern at S&P and rejoins the company from its subsidiary Rollcon, a roller compacted concrete contractor, where he served as director of business development since 2017.

Tim Glenn

Tim Glenn has joined Structure Tone Southwest as regional vice president in the firm’s Houston office. With 28 years of experience, Glenn will oversee the Houston office and be responsible for strategic growth, client relationships and overall operations.

Jerry Alexander will join Stephanie Burritt as co-managing director of Gensler’s Houston office. Alexander will also continue in his current capacity as global leader of the Brand Design practice. Alexander previously co-led Acumen Design, a branding agency he founded in Houston.

Faisal Naveed has been promoted to co-director of Gensler’s Workplace Interiors studio in Austin. He is celebrating 22 years with the firm, and joined the Austin office in 2015.

Elena Cutshall has joined Gensler’s Austin office as co-director of the Workplace Interiors studio. Her project experience includes workplace design for corporate headquarters, law firms and technology companies such as Meta, as well as multifamily work.

WSP USA, Dallas, has promoted Arpit Talati to Texas District lead, where he will be responsible for business delivery performance and client engagement in the Texas District across all markets. Since January 2021, Talati has served as regional development director. He joined WSP in 2016.

Syska Hennessy Group has named Will B. Hodges managing director of its Dallas office. Hodges has nearly 20 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a specialty in critical facilities. He joined Syska Dallas office in 2006.

Sotirios Vardakos has joined HNTB Corp. as a national tunnel practice consultant and associate vice president. In this role, he will focus on expanding HNTB’s tunneling business in the Central Texas region and nationally. Based in Austin, Vardakos has more than 20 years of geotechnical, tunnel engineering and research experience.

Julie Huerta

Freese and Nichols has hired Julie Huerta, who specializes in water quality and regulatory compliance, to direct the firm’s program assisting clients in meeting new drinking water standards under the federal Lead and Copper Rule Revisions. She’s based in Houston.

Also joining the firm is Annie Vest, who will serve as mitigation and disaster planning lead in the Tulsa office.

David Cross, a 12-year veteran of the Oklahoma Dept. of Transportation, will lead transportation services in northeastern Oklahoma from the firm’s Tulsa office.

Also, Jillian Nava, based in Lubbock, Texas, will lead the firm’s water-related projects across West Texas.

Adolfson & Peterson Construction hired Eric Churchill as director of business development for central Texas in Austin, and Melisa Baune as director of business development for north Texas in Dallas.

Rock Hoy

Dallas-based MYCON General Contractors Inc. has hired Rock Hoy as chief estimator to oversee preconstruction budgeting, lump-sum bidding and CM-at-risk estimating procedures. He has more than 41 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.

April Hudson has joined McCownGordon Construction, the expanding Midwest-based construction firm, as director of business development in its Dallas-Fort Worth office. She brings ten years of construction industry experience.

Kirksey Architecture has promoted Michael La Nasa to director of pK-12 projects – Central Texas. La Nasa joined Kirksey in 2005 with a focus on education and community projects.

Harvey-Cleary hired Michael Silla as its Mission Critical Practice leader. Silla is an industry veteran focused on evolving the delivery of data centers.

Walter P Moore promoted Karim Zulfiqar to managing director for Houston’s structural engineering group. Zulfiqar is a senior principal and has been with the firm for more than 23 years.

Bowman Consulting Group Ltd. hired Aaron McMillan as Texas regional manager. McMillan joined Bowman from 1519 Surveying where he was president and co-owner for 10 years. Bowman acquired 1519 in December 2021.

Nick Thanos

Nick Thanos has joined Lockwood, Andrews & Newman Inc. (LAN) as program manager in the Austin office, supporting K-12 school districts program management projects in central Texas.

Ashok Varma has joined Mbroh Engineering’s Dallas office as senior consultant. Varma’s career includes more than 50 years in the planning, design and management of water and wastewater facilities and infrastructure projects.

Robert Powell has joined the firm’s Oklahoma City office as transportation practice lead. Powell brings more than 12 years of experience with a specialization in transportation planning and design.

Gary Harris has joined the Oklahoma City office as a senior designer. Harris brings 18 years of experience in civil design with municipalities, departments of transportation, turnpike authorities, subdivision developments and private developments.

Reggie Herman

Reggie Herman has been promoted to AECOM’s Global Goods Movement team. Based in Dallas, Herman will be leading the strategy of the Industrial Development initiative.

Brian Schoenemann has joined AECOM in San Antonio as a senior project manager who will lead the construction engineering and inspection (CEI) practice in South and Central Texas.

KWA Construction promoted Julian Sontag to senior project manager. Sontag began his career at KWA as an assistant project manager in 2014.

Hanson Professional Services Inc. has hired James Sassin as a senior project manager in the firm’s Austin office. He will be responsible for growing Hanson’s transportation market in Central Texas, with a primary focus on Texas Dept. of Transportation business development. Sassin has more than 30 years of experience in transportation engineering.

Clay Schroeder has been hired as a civil designer in Hanson’s Corpus Christi. He will assist engineers with developing plans, specifications and estimates. Schroeder previously served in the U.S. Navy.

Also joining the firm’s Corpus Christi office is Mateo Requenez as a roadway designer. He will perform calculations of roadway quantities and roadway modeling.

Neel-Schaffer Inc. has hired Jarrett Taylor as a transportation engineer based in the firm’s Jackson, Miss., office. Taylor has 10 years of experience, including over nine with the Mississippi Dept. of Transportation. Most recently, Taylor worked on pavement preservation, bridge replacement and traffic control projects for another consulting firm.

Ryan Gootee General Contractors of Metairie, La., hired Jack Altman as an assistant estimator, Chris Talliancich as an assistant project manager, Mason French as a project engineer and assistant project superintendents Sean Dornan and Hunter Winn. Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing announced four promotions across its Texas offices.

Artemio Sanchez was named general superintendent in Dallas. In the Austin office, Nikodem Citak was promoted to project manager and Tim Shaw was named senior ops manager. Gus Alvarez was elevated to quality and training coordinator.
