GID Atlanta is planning to build two residential buildings at Santa Fe Yards in Denver. The two 11-story buildings will total 1,265,885 sq ft and contain 938 apartments. MISSOURI

The St. Louis Zoo is planning to construct WildCare Park, a 425-acre “experiential conservation area,” located at 12385 Larimore Road. A 63-acre wooded habitat and a 101-acre grassy pasture will host safaris to view giraffes, zebras, gazelles, white rhinos, antelope, camels and ostriches. There will be an 11-story observation tower, 10 luxury camping cabins, a 5,000- to 8,000-sq-ft “zooseum” offering augmented reality and virtual-reality experiences, and an outdoor restaurant. OHIO

VanTrust Real Estate plans to develop the New Albany Tech Park on a 500-acre site in New Albany, just south of Intel’s planned $20-billion semiconductor manufacturing campus. The tech park will include a combination of speculative and build-to-suit buildings, with a total build-out of up to 5 million sq ft. Construction is expected to start in January 2023. OREGON

NorthPoint Development is planning to construct the Coos Bay Multi-Modal Terminal, a full-scale container terminal. The three-berth terminal will be the first ship-to-rail port facility on the West Coast between San Francisco and Portland. The port will be fitted with electric plug-ins that will power ships at berth during unloading. Using shore-side electrical power at berth—called cold ironing—will eliminate ship engine emissions in port waters, reducing pollutants by approximately 90% and greenhouse gas emissions by roughly 50%. It will be capable of handling more than one million 40-ft containers annually. This project is a public-private partnership between the Port of Coos Bay and NorthPoint Development. VIRGINIA

The Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority is partnering with Fairstead, Mill Creek Residential and The Communities Group to transform the Samuel Madden public housing complex. The complex, originally built in 1945, consists of 66 brick two- and three-bedroom townhouses. The townhouses will be replaced by two 7-story buildings totaling 560,000 sq ft, containing 530 apartments, with a swimming pool, a 10,000-sq-ft public park, a food pantry and 16,000 sq ft of ground-floor retail space. Hc Contractors Inc. has started rehabilitating a 17-mile-long section of the Alaska Highway in southeast Fairbanks. The project involves rehabbing the highway between mileposts 1235 and 1252 and constructing new passing lanes, as well as bridge work and drainage improvements. The project is valued at $25 million. Gilbane Building Co. has begun renovating John F. Kennedy Middle School in Enfield. The project entails constructing an 18,610-sq-ft addition and renovating the 179,506 sq ft of existing space. It also includes demolishing existing portable classrooms and carrying out hazardous materials abatement, and a total roof replacement. 8/8 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking bidders to carry out a dredging project in Jacksonville Harbor.  The work consists of maintenance dredging of portions of the Jacksonville Harbor channel between Bar Cut-3 and Upper Terminal Channel. It  entails dredging approximately 1,700,000 cu yd of material from the channel of Jacksonville Harbor and disposing of the material at Buck Island Cell A and Bartram Island Cell A. The work also includes turbidity monitoring, endangered species observers (hopper dredges only), sea turtle trawl-sweeping (hopper dredges only), marine animal observer (mechanical dredges only), bird monitoring and disposal area pumpout.
