It’s official!

GenieBelt and SustainSolutions join forces in order to empower collaboration and optimise communications during the ambitious large-scale energy renovation project in DGI-Byen.
The 30,000 m2 leisure and business centre is located in central Copenhagen and it is about to undergo an extensive energy renovation. The project is expected to cost a total of €5 million to build and it will turn the business and sports facility greener and more energy efficient.
Christian Niepoort, CEO of SustainSolutions, is very optimistic that GenieBelt will contribute significantly to safety, quality, and time and cost savings.
Regardless of their size, construction projects can easily get messy when it comes to project planning if the right tools and processes are not in place. Especially when we refer to large-scale projects, such as the one in DGI-Byen things can be even more challenging.
DGI-Byen
A plethora of stakeholders and project agents are involved. Electricians, painters, carpenters, masons, architects, and consultants need to come together, work closely and stick to the agreed schedule. Only then, contractor and supplier activities can progress smoothly.
This is where GenieBelt comes in the picture, as our mission in the DGI-Byen project is to keep all parties on the same page and fully updated in regard to the project schedule. Like that, the people working on-site can effortlessly and quickly report progress and connect with the people back at the office.

In that way, any problems or questions are always addressed on time and as a result, costly delays and mistakes can easily be prevented. No need for project parties to show up on the building site in vain. On top of that, the time spent in administration and paperwork tasks is minimised.

7% savings on projects using GenieBelt

According to the Danish Building Research Institute, in affiliation with Aalborg University in Copenhagen, the use of GenieBelt during the construction process can result in project savings of up to 7%.

“Our customers tell us that they save time and money on their projects because all involved parties are up-to-date with the progress on-site. That facilitates communication and processes on the projects and establishes the foundation for much more productive and efficient construction operations”, says GenieBelt CEO Ulrik Branner.

The biggest energy renovation project to date

The findings of the Danish Building Research Institute report become even more important if we take into account that DGI-Byen renovation project is SustainSolutions’ biggest energy renovation project to date.
This makes our mission to empower the connection between the construction site and the office even more meaningful.
Thanks to their great experience as a turnkey contractor, SustainSolutions know well what the biggest communication obstacles in a construction project are.

”It is difficult to coordinate deadlines and work packages at the subcontractors and that often leads to an inefficient process. Facilitating this process will lead to time savings and ultimately money”, says Christian Niepoort, CEO of SustainSolutions.

As mentioned above, the total value of the project is calculated to more than €5 million and it will transform DGI-Byen to a greener and more energy efficient facility.
”The app is used actively by all parties on the project. I am sure it will help us deliver on time”, notices Klaus Gadeberg, the technical manager at SustainSolutions. The energy renovation project has just begun and is expected to be completed next year.
