President
Blach Construction

Despite the pandemic, construction across the state of California continues to remain strong, says Rogers, who sees significant opportunities in Blach’s core markets: education, institutional, workplace and housing.

Rogers says the housing market has ramped up rapidly and notes that in the San Francisco Bay Area, there continues to be a huge demand for all types of housing—affordable, supportive, transitional, market rate and housing to help people experiencing homelessness.

“We remain in a severe housing crisis,” Rogers says. “As a commercial contractor, it is gratifying that both Santa Clara County and the city of San Jose, where Blach Construction is headquartered, are supportive in their priorities to provide housing to those most in need.”

Rogers  says local government support helps Blach deliver projects like the Immanuel-Sobrato Community, a 108-unit affordable housing development in San Jose for residents suffering from chronic homelessness. The project was made possible by the community-based efforts of a private-public partnership.
