Alaska Trilogy Metals is planning to construct a copper processing facility and an open pit mine at its Arctic Deposit, in the Ambler Mining District of Northwest Alaska. Georgia thyssenkrupp Elevator is planning to construct an elevator qualification and test tower at its proposed headquarters facility at The Battery in Atlanta. The project scope includes construction of a 420-ft-tall tower with 18 elevator shafts and purchase and erection of structural steel. The project is part of the Innovation Complex, which includes construction of two office buildings. Collins Project Management has been selected to provide project management services. Iowa Kreg Tool Company is planning to construct a woodworking tool manufacturing plant in Ankeny. The project scope includes design and construction of an estimated 250,000-sq-ft building, and purchase and installation of an air compressor system, conveyors and fabrication and machining equipment. The company has selected independent consultant Dick Gosselink to provide owner’s representative services for the project. Construction is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2019. Kansas VNA Corporation is planning to construct a biofuel plant on a 160-acre site in Peck. The project scope includes construction of building space and equipment foundations; erection of fermentation tanks; and purchase and installation of feedstock receiving, handling, grinding and pretreatment equipment, gas compressors, mixers, a natural gas-fired boiler, a thermal oxidizer and desulphurization, carbon dioxide removal, drying, and fermentation residue treatment equipment. The plant will have the capacity to process 75,000 metric tons of wheat straw and corn stover per year to produce pipeline-quality renewable natural gas and humus as a byproduct.
