Lawn Care Companies Deal with a Cold Start to April

The weather can't make up its mind, which has landscapers fighting between winter and spring.

The calendar says April, but the weather this month has been anything but spring-like. 

The return of winter weather is forcing many to put off getting yards and gardens ready for the year, and has lawn care companies battling two seasons.  

"We're ready for winter to be done," Zack Warner, a manager at Robert's Nursery Landscape & Lawns of Omaha, Nebraska said. "With the snow coming, we are kind of on edge watching what the weather is going to do." 

The nursery has already started putting down seed and fertilizer for spring, but this weekend their focus is shifting back to winter.
