“Midwest transportation has stepped up,” Becherer says. “Numerous states have created new revenue sources. The O’Hare runways are being built, and O’Hare has taken off into a whole other level with the terminals and the civil tunnel work that’s going to be done that we’re going to be part of. Metra is in the process of investing in their system here in Chicago. Then you have IDOT starting to move their program forward, and we’re involved in that CREATE program, which is for efficiencies for railroads and increasing safety between railroads and highway traffic.”
