HighRes Biosolutions Breaks Ground For New Corporate HQ

The laboratory automation product company is moving to a new facility in Beverly, MA with help from the city's Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Program.

HighRes Biosolutions, a leading provider of laboratory automation products, celebrated the ground breaking of its new state-of-the-art, 80,000-square-foot headquarters facility. HighRes is relocating its entire product development, manufacturing, and U.S. sales operations to a new Beverly, MA site, from its current offices in Woburn, MA.

The new HighRes offices will be constructed by the Beverly-based Connolly Brothers Inc. and represents a more than doubling in size of HighRes’ operations. The site also provides the company with the space for further expansion to accommodate future growth.

“The new facility will provide expansion space to at least double the current staff at HighRes,” said Lou Guarracina, President and CEO of HighRes Biosolutions. “It will also allow the space we need to grow our operations for the manufacture and deployment of several new, key products that are progressing rapidly through the development process towards release. The sleek, ultramodern building will be styled to fit into the existing community and be well equipped with a variety of comfortable and welcoming modern amenities for our employees and visitors to enjoy.”

The project adds yet another fast growing high technology company to the already flourishing Beverly scientific product commercial community. The HighRes corporate offices will be situated with easy access to major highways and community amenities and affords HighRes excellent access to the expanding biotechnology hub of the greater Boston area.

“HighRes has experienced explosive growth in sales and headcount in recent years,” said Ira Hoffman, Managing Director at HighRes. “The situation has reached the point where we really needed to find a new facility for our company. After an extensive search throughout the area, we found Beverly to be the optimum choice for our needs. The opportunity to build an entirely new workspace to our specifications coupled with the level of cooperation we received from Beverly officials were the final deciding factors in our ultimate choice.”

HighRes worked with the city of Beverly on this building and relocation project through the city’s Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Program. HighRes plans to apply for additional city and state incentive programs to even further accelerate the company’s growth.
